Getting to a working store

Install WooCommerce, connect a payment provider that supports iDEAL and the card schemes, configure tax for the jurisdictions you actually sell into, and test a full order including refund and a failed payment. That is a week of work, not a project.

Where it becomes a project

iDEAL is a bank-transfer method, which means settlement is asynchronous and the customer can abandon after the bank step. Orders sit in a pending state that your fulfilment process has to understand. Support teams that treat pending as failed will refund orders that later complete.

Run the full matrix in the provider's test environment: success, customer-cancelled, bank-declined, timeout, duplicate callback and refund. Most production incidents in Dutch webshops are one of those six paths behaving differently from the happy path nobody tested.
